Majestic Sales
202 West Main Street
This brick-veneered structural clay tile astylistic utilitarian building was erected as the Parkway Theater in 1923-24 (Village of Mount Horeb Tax Rolls). It is much altered. Built for Alfred Peterson, the building also housed a dance hall. The Parkway Theater hosted movies, lectures, and vaudeville shows. Leo Sutter and Gunnar Larson bought the property in 1951 and moved their electrical appliances business, Majestic Sales, into the building. That store was previously located at 216 West Main Street (extant), and the additional space in this building allowed them to expand Majestic Sales to include furniture and household furnishings. Hugo Fink converted the building into a tavern in 1970 (Mount Horeb Presettlement to 1986, p. 28). This property was owned by Alfred Peterson from 1923 until 1951, by Leo Sutter and Gunnar Larson from 1951 until 1970, by Forest Westfall in 1970, and by Hugo Fink from 1970 until at least 1985. In 1996, it was owned by Kenton and Jenny Lou Johnson (Village of Mount Horeb Tax Rolls). The Parkway Theater is not eligible for historic designation, but is a noncontributing element in the potential locally-designated Main Street Historic District.

204 West Main Street (Raymond Jenkins Building)

204 West Main Street
This small concrete block astylistic utilitarian building was erected for Raymond Jenkins in 1948 (Village of Mount Horeb Tax Rolls). This property was owned by Raymond Jenkins from 1948 until at least 1975, by Robert and Thelma Washburn in 1980, and by Hugo Fink since at least 1985 (Village of Mount Horeb Tax Rolls). It is not individually eligible for historic designation.

206 West Main Street (Peter Moe house)

206 West Main Street
This frame gabled-ell house was erected for Peter Moe in 1882 (Village of Mount Horeb Tax Rolls). It is very plain and has been aluminum-sided. Peter Moe was a blacksmith in partnership with Henry Mohaney from 1882 until 1885, and on his own until at least 1889 (The Mount Horeb Centennial Book, 1861-1961, p. 26). This property was owned by Moe from 1882 until 1889, by Henry Mohaney from 1890 until 1892, by John Oakland from 1893 until 1895, by L. Skaar from 1896 until 1899, by John Hayden from 1900 until at least 1910, by Alfred Peterson in 1915, by J.F. Luder in 1920, and by Alfred Redel from at least 1925 until at least 1945. In 1934, Dr. R.A. Ogilvie opened a veterinarian's office in the house, where he lived and practiced until 1951 (Mount Horeb Presettlement to 1986, p. 28). R.A. Ogilvie owned the property from at least 1950 until at least 1965. It was owned by Inger Ogilvie from at least 1970 until at least 1975, and by Peter and Donna Jean Dwyer from at least 1980 until at least 1985. In 1996, it was owned by Larry Jorgensen (Village of Mount Horeb Tax Rolls). The Moe house is not individually eligible for historic designation.

208 West Main Street (Henry Mahoney House)

208 West Main Street
This frame side-gabled house was built for Henry Mohaney in 1882 (Village of Mount Horeb Tax Rolls). It is very plain and has been aluminum-sided. Mohaney was a blacksmith, in partnership with Peter Moe from 1882 until 1885, with Torgrim Fjeld from 1885 until about 1888, and on his own thereafter until at least 1893 (Wisconsin State Gazetteer and Business Directory). Sever Belgum, who was also a blacksmith, lived in this house for some 30 years (Village of Mount Horeb Tax Rolls). Verna Spaanem opened T and V ceramics studio here in 1967 (Mount Horeb Presettlement to 1986, p. 29). This property was owned by Henry Mohaney from 1882 until 1888, by Sever Belgum from 1888 until at least 1920, by F.S. Zintz from at least 1925 until at least 1930, by Endora Zintz in 1935, and by Theodore Spaanem since at least 1940 (Village of Mount Horeb Tax Rolls). The Mahoney House is not individually eligible for historic designation.

210 West Main Street
This contemporary building was probably erected by Theodore Spaanem for his service station in 1936 (Village of Mount Horeb Tax Rolls; (Mount Horeb Presettlement to 1986, p. 28), and extensively altered circa 1965. A previous gas station, said to be the first in Mount Horeb, was built on this site in the mid-1920s for Adry Brattrud. Ted Spaanem operated the existing service station until 1977 (Mount Horeb Presettlement to 1986, p. 28). Ted Spaanem has owned this property since 1936 (Village of Mount Horeb Tax Rolls). The Spaanem Service Station is not individually eligible for historic designation.
