INGLESIDE ORAL HISTOries:
Nya Lizdas Girl Scout GOld Award Project
In 2018, the Mount Horeb Area Historical Society collected oral histories from participating residents in Ingleside Assisted Living facilities in a series of five sessions. Each session has been recorded, transcribed, and archived with the Mount Horeb Area Historical Society for public access. Sessions focus on themes intended to bring out the history and everyday experiences of Mt. Horeb’s residents throughout the town’s past. |

The goal of the project was to collect, catalogue, and preserve the small moments and personal anecdotes that add vibrance and context to Mt. Horeb’s history. The oral histories collected and transcribed are intended to further an understanding of local history and introduce the past to future generations in an intimate, personal, and meaningful manner.
This project was undertaken in partnership with local resident and Girl Scout Ambassador Nya Lizdas as her Girl Scout Gold Award project and an investment in the future of the Mount Horeb community. For further questions on archived materials or oral histories, visit the Mount Horeb Area Historical Society or contact us via email or phone.
