"By 1881 or 1882 Thore O. Smesrude ran a steam-powered saw and grist mill on the main street of Daleyville (Hwy. 78). He also had several other businesses. Around 1911 the mill was sold to Carl Paulson. Other operators included Carl Rud and John Dahlby. In about 1920 the building was purchased by Dr. McQuillian, rotated and split in half to become two separate houses." |
