DRIFTLESS sTRONG
FACING HISTORIC TIMES TOGETHER AND APART

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
Be a part of the Driftless Historium's community photography exhibit.
Share digital photos that document
your pandemic world and experiences.
What images tell the COVID-19 story of
you, your family and your community?
The Driftless Historium (100 S 2nd St, Mt Horeb) announces a call for entries to the upcoming community photography exhibition, “Driftless Strong: Facing Historic Times Together and Apart.”  This installation will be debut in the Historium’s Walk-up Gallery on Friday, October 2, and be viewably daily through Wednesday, November 11, 2020.

These photograph submissions will also be added to the museum’s permanent archive, as a visual record of the new routines, moments and emotions that make up 2020’s unexpected and historic pandemic era.

What will you remember about this time? What kept you and your family busy? Distracted you? Kept you strong? How did you stay connected to loved ones and friends? How did your place of work adapt? How perhaps it couldn’t? What feelings colored your daily life, or kept you awake at night? What image or images will forever exemplify your COVID-19 Era?

The Historium seeks to capture the understandable anxiety and uncertainty, moments of intimacy and the silver lining of family togetherness,  and—especially—the resilience and strength of the people who call home the Driftless area’s rolling hills, prairies, farms and small town centers.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Anyone who lives or works within the greater Mount Horeb area is eligible to participate. There are no age restrictions.

HOW TO SUBMIT A PHOTO

Digital photo files should be emailed to mthorebhistory@mhtc.net.
Include “Driftless Strong Submission” in the subject line.
  • Images should be appropriate for public viewing,
  • Provide date photo was taken.
  • All subjects and location should be identified.
  • Titles are optional, but encouraged.
The submission deadline is Friday, September 25.

The Driftless Historium will produce photo prints from these digital files for display. Due to gallery size constraints, a limited number of photographs will be displayed in the Walk-up Gallery, with all submissions included in a companion virtual exhibit.

For more information, call the Driftless Historium at 608-437-6486 or email mthorebhistory@mhtc.net.
