Historium Offers Musicians FREE Opportunity to “Play on the Porch”
The Driftless Historium (100 S 2nd St, Mt Horeb) invites local musicians to take part in “Playin’ on the Porch.”
The Historium is located in the heart of downtown Mount Horeb, in the midst of a delightfully eclectic mix of dining and shopping destinations. This local history hub is now offering local musicians the opportunity to take advantage of its prime locale via free two-hour Friday or Saturday reservations (4:00 to 6:00 p.m.). These reservations include use of the 5 foot by 58 foot covered porch and cement pad, and access to four 110-volt, 3-prong outdoor outlets.
Musical content must be family-friendly, non-partisan and kept to a reasonable volume. Busking is allowed; MHAHS will provided signage making it clear that the museum will not benefit from these funds.
The Driftless Historium will publish an online calendar listing of scheduled musicians, but will not be officially associated with the performers or performances.
This is a community service endeavor; the Historium hopes to connect musicians with new and existing audiences—and provide yet another reason to linger in downtown Mount Horeb.
