Mount Horeb’s Driftless Historium is once again collaborating with UW-Platteville Professor of Dairy and Animal Science Dr. Tera Montgomery and her Ice Cream Making students to produce a museum-exclusive flavor to be featured in the gift shop through 2022.

This year, community feedback will be gathered via an official Tasting Commission recruited from the greater Mount Horeb community. The Commission will be composed of thirty individuals or teams (maximum of four per team*) who must agree to undertake a rigorous and uncompromising review of six ice cream flavors vying for the 2022 Flavor of the Year title.
*Individual Commission Members and at least one member per Commission Team must be 18 years of age or older. Commission Members will pick up Ice Cream Sample Kits on Saturday, April 23 at the Driftless Historium (100 S 2nd St, Mount Horeb), with evaluations to be completed and submitted by Monday, May 2. |
Parties interested in joining the Commission should email the Driftless Historium at [email protected] or call 608-437-6486 by Wednesday, April 20.
Inquiries will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis. Compensation includes free ice cream, Official Tasting Commission pins (as shown above) and the opportunity to shape the future of downtown Mount Horeb’s sweet treat offerings.
This tasty partnership between the Driftless Historium and UW-Platteville has received support and funding from UW-P’s Student Research and Engagement Fund (SREF). Based on an application and screening process, SREF provides financial support for outreach projects that connect UW-P students with the greater community.
